Bargain hunting has crept into our lives,
With a real thrill in the universal game,
Lessons, experiences disappointing –
On we go hunting and bargaining.
Nurture rosebushes – pick roses,
Show friendly – have them overflowing,
On the sea of life – ship beckon we’ve sent,
On we go hunting and bargaining.
Earth’s precious metal ‘neath – much digging,
Health, pain free, ripe old age, and joy -
Grab and hold by nature’s law,
On we go hunting and bargaining.
Modern churches in bargain deal,
Offer least truth get the crowds,
That we need “pretty good people,”
On we go hunting and bargaining.
Humanely easy, no obstacle road,
Thinking of the church as an escalator,
Onto which to relax, ride right to kingdom,
On we go hunting and bargaining.
Live for God here – expect to live in heaven,
We get out of life what we’ve treasured,
We reap as we sow: Life offers few bargains,
On we go hunting and bargaining.
