The Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) world leader, Pastor Ted Wilson is in the country, Kenya. During his address to denominational leaders from the East Africa Union (EAU) which comprises Kenya and Somalia at Nairobi Central SDA Church he praised the Kenyan government for the freedom of worship they are upholding.
Wilson challenged the church leaders to personify the gospel they preach in their daily lives. “Actions speaks louder than words,” he said. He called upon the church members, particularly the youth to be agents of change in their societies and beyond.
The General Conference President said the gospel has the potential of bringing reconciliation in homes as well as to people from different tribes in Kenya.
In emphasizing the denomination's theme for the next five years: revival and transformation. Dr Wilson said church members need to immerse themselves in Bible study, prayer and embrace the gift of the Spirit of Prophecy than before.
The President said Christianity should be practical to make a positive impact in our societies by helping the needy, being selfishness, kind ..., yes, exemplifying Christ to the people they interact with. Church members were called to stand for the truth as it's in the Bible.
He challenged theories which are against the Bible such as evolution. The Bible should inform what we belief in,he said.He counseled local church leaders and members against joining ecumenical movements albeit the church's mission to other churches and denomination and religions.
During his presentation the leader paused to exhibit how the church can spread the gospel by being creative and innovative and harnessing technological tools. He exhibited a pen containing 27 fundamental believes of the church and a MP3 device now popular in Papua New Guinea.
Pr. Wilson who is accompanied by his wife and other GC leaders was hosted by the East Central Africa Division president Pr. Blasious Ruguri and the EAU, Pr. Pual Muasya.
Wilson will officiate the opening of the Adventist University library tomorrow at Adventist Hill, Rongai before meeting the President Mwai Kibaki on Wednesday at Harambe House.

A NOTE TO READ PRAYERFULLY
Immediately after the meeting at Nairobi Central SDA Church I headed to the newsroom. This is where I'm writing this note from on the ongoing interview with one of my colleagues. If the story will be published - I might post it here. (After careful consideration. Even this note might be deleted.)
One, the guest is saying the Bible is history. To him the Bible is like any other historical book.
Two, Jesus has been modeled by some people (the Jews and the colonizers)to achieve their selfish ends.
Three, Satan is not real. If so "why has he never been 'arrested'?"
Four, so long as we can exercise justice, love one another.... that is enough. Thus we as human beings we are able to create our own standard of living for good.
Five, prayers are unnecessary! The 'god' whom he beliefs in knows everything to be told.
Six, conflict abound because of conflicting doctrines amongst Christians.
Why writing this? As Christians there is a great commission to be accomplished with urgency, wherever we are: our people need the Good News. Souls are languishing in darkness, people are perishing. Can we say with Isaiah: Here I'm LORD send me.
