Because of you my brother,
Childhood memories
Will haunt my life.
Your flowerbed cover
Outside our grass thatched mansions
Will forever call
Agitating our forgetful mind
To remember…
Because of you
I have kept that picture
Invoking the memories of childhood
When our father would have left
Last night; and our mother
Leaving us contained
With all that we needed:
Springs of milk flowing -
We will tap
And enjoy day long
Till she will come
Our day
Will close
With songs of joy
Outside the tall tree
Where our sisters and brothers
Melted our hearts
With there presence of belonging
From “good stories"
That our faces brightened the night.
Because of you
The winds of adventure will litter my eyes
Into the coffee plant
Into the bushes
To silence the singing birds
The dying scratch
On my forehead
Will tell of the deserted rocks.
Because of you
Football is an epitome
Our father’s field
Will never die from my heart
I will watch
As we play and enjoy
Till our stomach will call us home.
Because of you
I will embrace the blowing winds
As you slept a board
That evening
Never more to be heard!
I ask my memory
But still remains at large
You- who!
We grew together!
Because of you
We will call our children
Bye
Till that morning!
