You Too Can Write

As we were nearing to the main campus, University of Nairobi, where we expected Prof. Henry Indangasi to drop us, a bye! - thank you! was in our lips. His win was magical, our debate went on, to be the first "pure black" American to make it to white house, said a second year,BA student who was seated at the front seat of the Mercedes Benz, by Professor. A blend of oratory and writing talent boasted Barack Obama his chances of winning the presidency, said Indangasi. We agreed.

"Use simple words in writing," advised Indangasi, an English and Literature professor at the University of Nairobi during 12th National International Book Fair (NIBF) budding author's seminar,"because we write to communicate."

Indangasi illustrated the beauty of having a sense of grammar,a masterly of punctuation, simplicity, a unique style, being in touch with the audience, and yes spicing everything with creativity; by reading Obama's opening paragraph in his victory speech at Illinois that ended: tonight is your answer.

David Waweru, Muthoni Garland, Ruth Makotsi, Dr. Chebutuk Rotich and John Mwazemba spoke passionately on writing. Here I sum up their presentation: write, write, and write. Read, read, and read. Their you are not just a budding writer but an author.
